January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Every year since 2010, the President has dedicated the month to raise awareness about human trafficking and to educate the public about how to identify and prevent this crime.

Human trafficking in licensed liquor establishments is a serious issue that requires attention from regulators, law enforcement, and the businesses themselves. Licensed premises, such as bars, clubs, and other establishments serving alcohol, can sometimes be exploited by traffickers due to the high volume of transient patrons, the late-night environment, and the presence of cash transactions.
